When Colin was diagnosed with Duchenne in 1998 at age 3-and-a-half, it took his parents by surprise. Back then, there were few options available for treatment and care. His parents did their research and found a medical center with a team that worked together to support Colin and his Duchenne care. This eventually led them to exon-skipping therapy.
“We found out that there were some medical centers where there were entire teams focused on this, where not only were the people very well informed, but they worked together as a unit. And we found that that was really incredibly valuable.”
